Car Notes
2007.11.11 Ebay

Centreville, Virginia, United States

Up for sale is a 2002 Camaro SS convertible with a 6 speed transmission, leather interior, optional SLP package and more. SLP package includes Bilstein shocks, Eiback performance suspension kit lowering the car 1 inch up front and 1 ½ inches in the rear, 345 HP center mount exhaust system (very rare), upgraded panard bare, lower arms in rear end (prevent wheel hop on acceleration), upgraded sway bars front and rear, Hurst shifter, fitted car cover, chrome SLP rims, and Auburn Posi rear end (Upgraded one year ago under Auburns D-Rex program for stronger rear end). In addition I further upgraded the car with SLP front strut tower brace, SLP sub-frame connectors, SLP long tube headers, SLP larger diameter Y-pipe, SLP cold air intake, SLP 160 degree thermostat, SLP smooth air bellow, QTP electric exhaust cut out ( Open it up for an open exhaust sound or keep it closed for stock), SLP high flow cats ( Brings HP up about 50 HP combined), hardened 3.73 Richmond gears ( Gears “Sing” just a bit due to the harder metals used), Spec stage three clutch (For those who love a quick engaging clutch, needs a little getting used to but perfect for the way I drive stick), SLP billet fly wheel, HID 8000 lights (low beams only), Alarm system (Main alarm control works but LED is going, have another w/o LED), cross drilled and slotted brakes in the rear, slotted brakes up front with Hawk performance brake pads, 4 new Falken Azenis RT-615 tires ( Best tires I have ever owned), after market head and tail lights (still have old tail lights). The motor was fitted with Denso Iridium spark plugs and MSD wires. The convertible switch counsel is custom as the car had a large amount of stereo equipment inside of it and I needed to make room so the space was modified. The trunk did have several amplifiers inside of it but other than that there are no other visible modes to the car from the outside or inside. I also have two new monsoon speakers for the front doors as 1 is blown I came to find out after I put them back in. The car also comes with a wind-stop which is manually raised and lowered so when the top is down at highway speed the wind is not super loud. I actually run the ac when the top is down on hot days and the wind-stop keeps most if not all of the cool air inside the cabin. It can be easily removed in 30 seconds with out tools. The car also comes with a Hypertech Power Programmer which has a custom tune and is needed for the after market gear ratio in the rear end.
The only and ONLY reason this car is going is because my wife and I found a home and the money will help a lot. This is a rare find especially with the center mount exhaust The car is great on curvy roads and accelerates like it was new. Mobile 1 oil changes every 1500 miles or 3 months which ever came first.
Below you will find the build numbers for the 2002 Camaro. I high lighted areas that apply to this car. As you can see this car is extremely rare as only 793 of the total production was Camaro SS convertible 6 speed with the Bright Rally Red paint. Out of that only 18 went to SLP for the modification that makes the car handle so well. With the upgrades I have done to further stiffen the chassis the car will not disappoint. The car handles that great.
The car has been driven and has a couple of small nicks that any car would have. There is a scrape under the driver side bumper which can not be seen unless you look under the car. That occurred when I miss judged pulling into my father in-laws driveway and scraped a brick island he was putting in. It was just high enough to scrape and I could not see it so I left it alone. There is also one rim that has a little curb rash on it however I do have another identical rim from SLP that will come with the car. The extra rim was sent away to get glass blasted on the inside only because I made the mistake of using fix a flat one time and it gummed up the inside of the rim. (Don’t ever use that stuff…. Ever!!) I think I have covered everything about the car and upgrades are in the thousands…… so good luck. Please remember the car is still being driven so milage may vary from action to pick up.
